All too often, it’s an accident, illness or disaster that shows us how important it is to be prepared for medical emergencies. Our Emergency First Response course will prepare you to handle an emergency situation- in your day to day life as well in your diving adventures.

What is the Emergency First Response Course?

The Emergency First Response course builds your confidence to provide care when faced with a medical emergency. You will learn and practice the same patient care techniques and principles used by medical professionals.  It has two components- Primary Care (CPR) and Secondary Care (First Aid).

Primary Care: CPR/AED Course

This is a stand-alone CPR & AED course that typically takes about 2.5- 3 hours to complete. It encompasses one and two rescuer CPR and AED training for adults.  Primary Care (CPR) Course Emergency First Response teaches you to respond to life-threatening emergencies.  It gives you confidence in your ability to provide care when emergency situations arise.

Some of the skills that you’ll learn are:

  •  Scene safety assessment.
  • Communicable disease protection.
  • Obstructed airway.
  •  Serious bleeding.
  •  Shock and spinal injury management.

Optional recommended skills are AED training and emergency oxygen administration.

Emergency First Response Secondary Care : First Aid

efr_web_03Emergency First Response Secondary Care Course covers the first aid skills you need to treat injuries or illnesses that are not immediately life-threatening. In this course you’ll learn:

  • Injury assessment.
  • Illness assessment.
  • Bandaging and splinting.

Emergency First Response for Businesses

We offer comprehensive First Aid at Work courses, specifically designed to meet compliance standards for workplace safety courses internationally. Emergency First Response courses are flexible in design to accommodate scheduling and training needs. They can be taught together or alone in any combinationn level.

The Emergency First Response courses are OSHA-compliant and include CPR, AED and first aid training.  Our instructor can conduct the course at your business, on your schedule.
