Learning to prevent and manage problematic situations prior to and during dives, knowing that you can help others if needed, while becoming more confident in your skills as a diver are some of the achievements of this course. What do you learn as a PADI Rescue Diver?

PADI Rescue Divers learn to look beyond themselves and consider the safety and well-being of other divers. Although this course is a challenging one, it is a rewarding step.

How does the course work?

In knowledge development and rescue exercises divers learn; dive planning details, mannerisms to be aware of prior to diving, unexpected emergencies, and how to respond to issues associated with each through problem solving. During rescue scenarios, the knowledge and skills developed throughout the class and pool work, are put to the test in real world scenarios that require fast thinking and response.

PADI Rescue Diver Course materials are available in eLearning or traditional book and video formats. You will need to have Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver Certifications to enroll in the course. In addition, you will need PADI Emergency First Response: Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) within the prior 24 months (this training may be completed during the Rescue course).
